Day 1: Arrival Addis Ababa

Meet at Bole International airport and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is exploring the town of Addis Ababa including National Museum to view the 3.6 million year old remains of Lucy, whose skeletal remains were discovered in 1974, Holy Trinity Cathedrals and time permitting Mount Entoto which rises up to an altitude of 3200 meters and offers the panoramic view of the metropolis and Mercato the open market.
Optional tour to Fistula Hospital is a remarkable place to visit, and is considered the best-run charity in the country. Overnight Caravan Hotel.

Day 2: Addis Ababa-Jimma

At a morning drive to Jimma, on the way visit the typical village of Gurage people and their beautiful villages, crossing the magnificent and picturesque Gibe gorge Late afternoon visit Jimma Aba Jifar Palace Overnight Honey Land hotel.

Day 3: Jimma -Mizan Teferi

Drive to MizanTeferi (240 km) through the Ethiopia’s indigenous dense forest. This place is famous in coffee, tea and spice growing region from all over the country and visit the tea plantation. Overnight Salayish Hotel.

Day 4: Mizan Teferi-Magi

Drive to Maji through Bebeka coffee plantation, the Ethiopia’s largest old coffee plantation. On the way visit the Menit tribe. After crossing the Akobo River you experience the African Savanna grass land. You will stop at the little town of Dimma for lunch. Continue driving to Maji and have stop over before you arrive at Maji and you will visit the Dizi tribal village. Overnight camping at Maji (altitude 2400 m). At Tum this is the place where all the mule gears will be arranged. And you will visit Dizi Village in the near vicinity.
In the afternoon you will have a short trek to Kella that helps to acclimatize the altitude. O/n camping at Tum.

Day 5: Maji

Morning you walk through the beautiful country side for about 3 hours to visit the Dizi tribal village and the spectacular Maji water Falls. You walk back to Maji. Overnight Camping at Maji.

This is the day that you start trekking and we will arrange you mules for your personal equipments. It takes 8-9 hours. On the way you will visit the Dizi and the Surma people. And you will experience a walk through Savanna grass land. Overnight Camping at Kibish.

Day 7: Kibish

In the morning if there is any Donga (Stick fighting of the Surma people) you will attend it otherwise you walk around the old kibish village (14kms round trip) to see more, the Surma villages-to visit and appreciate the very attractive culture of Surma tribe, they are renowned for the strange custom followed by their women who, on reaching maturity, have their lower lips slit and circular or rectangular clay discs inserted. O/N Camping at Kibish.

Day 8: Kibish-Tulgit

Walk with in the Surma territory for about 4-5 hours. The walk will have gentle slope ascending and descending. Upon arrival at Tulgit you will walk for about 40 minute to visit the Surma Village. O/N Camping at Tulgit.

Day 9: Tulgit -Tepi

Driving to Tepi, through savannah the hunting areas and see many animals and birds. Lunch box on the way, dinner and O/N camp Tepi village.

Day 10: Tepi -Nekemte

Proceed by Gravel road to Nekemte, Visit reaching the region of Nekemte different coffee plantation; being the Wellega region, as the Kaffa (from where reaches the name of coffee) the most famous region for coffee. Lunch box on the way, Overnight Ethiopia Hotel.

Day 11: Nekemte-Addis Ababa

Drive back to Addis Ababa. Evening a fare well dinner party in one of the traditional Ethiopian restaurant with dances from different ethnic groups. Then transfer to The Airport for your flight back home.
