HISTORICAL, OMO VALLEY TRIBAL & DANAKIL DEPRESSION TOUR ITINERARY:- Flight & Surface (4 by 4)- 25 days
Day 1: Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, You will be greeted with the company representative at the airport and transferred to Ghion hotel. (Depending on your arrival time we can arrange afternoon or after hour city tour)
Day 2: Addis Ababa- Awash
Drive from Addis Ababa to Awash Town, which is located in the central part of the rift valley system 250 km from Addis Ababa, the best place to familiarize you self with the weather and visit the Kereyu people. After noon game drive in Awash national park. Overnight Awash Genet Hotel
Day 3: Awash-Logia
Drive from Awash National Park to Samara the capital city of the Afar regional state, on the way enjoy the beautiful landscape. Here we will finish some paper works- permits for the visit then we continue to a small town called Logia for An overnight stay at a local hotel.
Day 4: Logia-Afdera
Drive to Afdera. Afdera is a salty lake where common salt is extracted. O/N camping at Afdera.
Day 5: Afdera-Ertale
At a Morning drive to Kusrewad. Here we will have other staffs the cook, armed rangers and for road guides. You will pick two armed rangers and one road guide from Afdera
In the late afternoon, we will start walk to Ertale to see the bubbling magma in the night. If you find it difficult to trek, you can use a Camel. We will pass the night at the hill top to observe the active volcano. In the morning at 5:00 am, they will trek down to Kusrewad. O/N Camping at Ertale
Day 6: Ertale-Hamed Ela
This day we will walk back the 15 km from Earta Alle to Kusrewad and meet the vehicles then drive to Ahemed Ela, crossing the desert on the way visit the Afar Village in the desert and continue to Hamed Ela. O/n Camping
Day 7: Hamed Ela
Morning drive to Lake Asale where you meet people extracting the bar salt from the salt plain. Bar Salt used as a currency in the 18th C. Ethiopia and Asale was the center for curving bar salt as equal to minting coins. In the after noon, drive to the Dallol depression which is the lowest depression on Earth and the landscape covered by colorful phosphate. Then drive back to Hamed ela. O/N camping at Hamdela.
Day 8: Hamed Ela-Mekele
Drive to Mekele through the river bed with the camel Caravans over night Mekele Axum Hotel.
Day 9: Mekele-Axum
Drive to Axum on the way visiting the tigray rock churches; Wukro Cherquos , and Yeha the Temple of moon dated back to the seven century before Christ. O/N Axum Remhai Hotel
Day 10: Axum
Full day visit of the old town of Axum that includes the Archaeological
Museum, ruins of Queen of Sheba's Palace and Bath, the Stele or Obelisk
Square, Kaleb's Tomb, the Tsion Mariam Church where the original Ark of
Covenant is said to be housed and other recently found archaeological sites.

Day 11: Axum-Gondor
Drive to Gondar through the beautiful scenery of Semien Mountains, stop at the Tekeze Valley and then ascend to Lima limo the ranger mountain down to Debark for short break and continue driving to beautiful scenery to marvels cultivated low land and then further drive to Kossoye all the way to Gondar. Day 12: Gondor-Bahirdar
Visit the town of Gondar, that established by king Fasiledes in 1632-1667.The town was capital of Ethiopia 17thc. However, it is now the provision of capital of northern Gondor .On this day you visit the town embraced with the magnificent castle compound, which were built in 17thc by several generation of Ethiopia kings: the well decorated 18th century Debre Birhan Selassie church and the bath of the king Fasiledes, and in the after noon drive to Bahir Dar through Tara Gedam Mountain ranges. Day 13: Bahir Dar
Drive some 35 km to visit the Blue Nile falls and afternoon boat trip on Lake Tana and visit the 14th century Ura Kidanemihret Monastery on Zegge Peninsula fame for beautiful paintings. Overnight Bahir Dar Tana hotel
Day 14: Bahirdar-Lalibela
After early morning breakfast drive to Lalibela via Worota and Debre Tabor through the dry high land reach Lalibela check in and over night at Lalibela Roha Hotel.
Day 15: Lalibela
Full day Visit of Lalibela brings you to yet more wonder – the rock-hewn churches.
The churches of Lalibela are among the most extraordinary architectural creations of human civilization.
Each church is sculpted, both inside and out, directly from the living bedrock of the earth.
The probable method of construction was for craftsman to first sink trenches directly into the stone, then to slowly chisel away excess Stone to reveal exterior and interior spaces.
Narrow, labyrinthine tunnels connect several of the churches, and the walls of the trenches and courtyards contain cavities and chambers filled with mummies of pious monks and pilgrims.

Day 16: Lalibela –Kombolcha (320 km)
Drive to Kombolcha through fantastic scenery and mountain ranges all along the way. Visit the 13th centrury Haik Istifanos Monastery. Overnight Sunny Land Hotel
Day 17: Kombolcha-Addis Ababa (380 Km)
Drive back to Addis Ababa. En route wonder the top view of the Great Rift Valley around Debre Sina. Overnight Ghion hotel
Day 18: Addis Ababa- Aribaminch via Hosaena (432 km)
Drive the whole day to Ariba Minch. On the way visit Tiya Stelae field one of UNESCO world heritage site, Melkakunture archeological site and Gurage and Oromo people with their village. Overnight Ariba Minch Paradise Hotel
Day 19: Ariba Minch
Full day in Arbaminch, game drive in Nech Sar National Park and Boat Trip on Lake Chamo known for spotting hippos and crocodiles as well as for birding. O/n Ariba Minch Paradise Hotel
Day 20: Ariba Minch- Jinka via Key Afer (245 km)
En route visit Tsemay, Bana and Ari people and their villages. Key Afer Market (Thursday) Overnight Jinka Resort Hotel
Day 21: Jinka-Mago-Turmi (300 Km)
Excursion to Mago National park and visit the Mursi Tribe, know for their womans lip plates and men for ritual stick fighting (donga). Drive back to Jinka and continue to Turmi via Demeka (Saturday and Tuesday Market at Dimeka) Over night Turmi Buska Lodge
Day 22: Turmi (70 km to Omorate one way)
Excursion trip to Omorate , boat crossing the omo river and Visit the Dasenech tribe. Visit the village of Hamer tribe. (Turmi market on Monday and Thursday) and attend Tribal dance and bull jumping ceremony which is occasionally coincides and optional. Overnight Turmi Buska Lodge
Day 23: Drive Back to Aribaminch (285km).
En route visit the Erbore and Konso Tribe. Overnight Ariba Minch Paradise Lodge
Day 24: Aribaminch- Awassa (275 km)
Detour to Dorze village to visit the Dorze people and their village. Continue driving to Awassa. Overnight Pina Hotel
Day 25: Drive back to Addis Ababa: (275 Km)
Visit the fish market in Awassa and drive back to Addis. On the way visit some of the rift valley lakes the remaining day at Leisure or optional activity in Addis. At evening we will have fair well dinner at one of the local restaurant with folk lore music then transfer out for flight back to home.
