ETHIOPIA HISTORICAL TOUR ITINERARY:-On Flight & Surface-13 days
Day 1: Addis –Lalibela: Fly from Addis to Lalibela (55 min). On arrival visit the rock hewn churches of
Lalibela. Overnight, Hotel
Day 2: Full day in Lalibela, visit the remaining churches and the monasteries outside Lalibela.
Day 3: Lalibela-Mekele (314 km). The whole day is required to cover this distance. Drive to Mekele. On the way enjoy the amazing scenery, the countryside and the people. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Drive to Gheralta, one of the most striking sites in Ethiopia and visit Tigray Rock hewn churches.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Full day in Gheralta, visiting the Rock churches of Tigray.
Day 6: Drive to Aksum, on the way visit the 7th century Muslim settlement in Ethiopia, and the oldest temple of the moon, Yeha. Overnight at Hotel
Day 7: Full day in Aksum. Full day sightseeing in Axum that includes the Stele, carved out of single granite stone of the pre Christian era, the palace and tombs of Kings, the old and new St, Mary Churches, the remnant palace of the legendary Queen Sheba, and inscriptions. Overnight Hotel
Day 8: Drive to the Simien Mountains National Park through a stunning landscape. Overnight Simien Lodge
Day 9: Full day in the National Park, enjoying the wildlife and the scenic beauty of the area which can involve few hours walk depending on interests. Overnight Lodge
Day 10: Drive to Gondar. On arrival a city tour of the medieval castle enclosure and the Church. Overnight Hotel
Day 11: Drive to Bahir Dar, on the way enjoys the landscape and the countryside. Overnight, Hotel.
Day 12: Full day in Bahir Dar. An excursion drives to visit the Blue Nile Falls and the monastery on Lake Tana. Overnight Hotel
Day 13: Fly back to Addis.
Sightseeing in Addis Ababa and shopping, early evening, we will have a coffee ceremony to our appreciation for touring with us, Foot prints and we dine a fair well dinner at one of the traditional restaurant with folklore music and dances then depart to home.
