DANAKIL DEPRESSION ERTA ALLE & DALLOL TOUR ITINERARY:- On Surface & Flight-10 Days
Day 1: Arrive at Addis Ababa;
Our representative welcomes you on your arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and transfer to hotel depends on the time city tour. Overnight Ghion Hotel
Day 2: Awash:
Drive from Addis Ababa to Awash Town, which is located in the central part of the rift valley system 250 km from Addis Ababa, the best place to familiarize with the weather and meet the Kereyu people a step into a quieter, calmer and more natural world enjoy swimming the natural hot spring. Overnight Genet Hotel
Day 3: Semera:
Drive from Awash National Park to Samara the capital city of the Afar regional state, on the way enjoy the beautiful landscape. Here we will finish some paper works- permits for the visit then we continue to a small town called Logia for An overnight stay at a local hotel.
Day 4: Afdera :
We drive to Afdera. P.M facilitate the permit paper from the regional tourist office. Here some more people, who are important for our trip, will accompany us. Overnight Local hotel.
Day 5: Drive to Dodem then walks to Erta Alle:
Drive from Afdera to Dodom. At Dodum we will start walk to the Erta Alle Volcanic hills (613 meters above sea level) which is 15kms one way. We arrive to Erta Alle around mid night and walk to see the volcanic eruption; the eruption is so colorful and spectacular. We will camp nearby the eruption considering the direction of the wind because of the volcanic acid which is not good for health, anytime any one can see or take a picture. To get Best pictures of the volcano will be a night shooting. Overnight camping Erta Alle
Day 6: Erta Alle:
The whole day wonder around Erta Alle. Overnight camping
Day 7: Ahemed Lalle:
This day we will walk back the 15 kms from Earta Alle back to Dodum and meet the vehicles. Then drive to Ahemed Lale. Overnight Camping at Ahemed Lale.
Day 8: Berhaile:
Drive to the Lake Asale, salty Lake and visit the salt workers and the merchant from the highland the salt market and the lake and proceed 17 km to Dalol and enjoy the spectacular view and small hill which is colorful by hot spring in several places. The hot spring out with the sulfurs, potash and salt it forms spectacular formation. Then After drive back to Berhaile for an overnight stay, camping.
Day 9: Mekele:
Drive from Berhaile to Mekele-the capital of Tigray region on the way visit the Afar village over the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley to the western highland. Overnight Mekele Axum Hotel.
Day 10: Addis Ababa then departure:
Fly from Mekele to Addis Ababa. The rest of the day, sightseeing in Addis Ababa. Evening we will dine a fare well dinner then after transfer to the air port for your flight back home.
